northern half of Oman sizzles during summer, the resort destinations
of Jebel Shams and Jebel al Akhdar, are a haunt for tourists seeking
to escape the swelter. On the east coast, nesting Loggerhead and
Green turtles are a major draw for nature lovers. Elsewhere around
Oman, thousands of farmers begin the annual date harvest using
traditional methods that are as old as date farming itself.
